Im missing Thailand already...

Tomorrow I have to leave... I'm starting to get depressed. The way I counted that today was to spend all the money I have left over. Well that lasted most of today... Unfortunately I'm really starting to feel the pain of coming back home... The Thai girl that I met in Ko-Sumui I'm really missing. It isn't anything like love, but it was an amazing holiday fling. Her name was Noi, she gave me her contact details and she shead a tear. The thought of coming back home really hit hard when I was having some of the local soup outside on the streets listening to some music and adding chilly to my dish, Noi tought me to eat quite spicy foods :). I'm already missing the food... I'm trying to eat as much of it as I can because I don't know when I'm coming back. I'm hoping at the end of the year again. Wishfull thinking I guess. Well when we first arrived I didn't understand what the hype was about Thailand... but after the second week, I'm really starting to understand what the hype is about. Suggestion to any travellers in the future: The holiday was great when we were spending a few days at one place and then moving on to the next... but the most amazing fun is around after the fourth day you spend in a place. Meeting the locals and visiting them is incredible... Just out of this world. I mean the girls even took to my sister with open arms. Bought her presents and me and paid for our food... Damn some of them are so friendly. I still have a lot of Thailand left to see, but I can honistly say that I'm going to go back to Ko-Sumui and maybe even Phuket. They are the two places we met the most locals... Bangkok is really busy to meet locals that you can spend the day with. But in the other two places you can really just waste time with some people that you have met and the night life is not too dull at both of them. :( Sigh, don't want to leave. We are leaving late tomorrow arrrfternoon, so I get to fill my belly with some more Thai dishes off the street. Now don't think I'm biased about this but I have eaten Thai dishes in many resturants and western food. Nothing and I mean nothing compares to the food on the streets. ESPECIALLY in Bangkok and I hear that the food in Chiang Mui is even better. :( The women... :( Going to really miss some of the women. The geniune ones and not the ones that are after your money. The beaches are not really that amazing, but you can make it up with the shopping that you can do here. I spent R2000 on clothes today and got...
1. 5 pairs of jeans
2. 10 t-shirts (4 glow in the dark)
3. 2 short sleave shirts
4. 15 pairs of jocks
5. 16 pears of socks
6. 3 jackets
7. 5 belts
8. 5 watches
9. 1 bag to pack this into
Also I spent around another R2000 on a awsome dock station for my Ipod and a FM transmitter/charger for the car that connects to my Ipod. As I have already mentioned, the price of electronics here is around the same as back home so I didn't buy much. But the clothes. I had to buy another bag to pack all of the clothes into. Anyways just to reminise on the massages I'm going to go for another one now. :( I don't want to come home... Anyway will be good to see some old friends again... Till I get back...

Leaving to Bangkok tomorrow

So really drained today... Don't really have the energy to post a long blog. Just letting everyone know that I'm OK... Well sorta. 8 straight days of partying can really take it out of you. But at least it is fun... Going to sleep like a mo-fo on the bus tomorrow. Had a really irritating incident the other night. We were out dancing and we met a English couple of two years. After two hours the English girl tried to pull into me... Not very good looking bird either. Also this was before her boyfriend... wtf. Maybe she was drunk. The bloke was great, his bird on the other hand... :( So maybe I should go drink a couple of these lethal red-bulls and I'll wake up. Seems to have worked most of the time. Just this time I feel like I am going to die if I party it up one more night. I have no idea where these freaking Thai girls get their energy from... They will seriously outlast anyone of the people I know... Believe me I know some heavy party go-ers. They also tend to get drunk off like half a beer, cheap date... :) But because of this most of them don't drink... They still great to go out and enjoy yourselves with. I have also just found out like yesterday that the girls in the girlie bar aren't paid to sit there and attract customers. They are prostitutes... Word of warning, to all the guys, DON'T go out by yourself. One girl will aproach you and offer you a blow job for something like R20. She will be gorgeous and when you say no and try to walk away she drops the price by like half... The funniest is when a group of girls try chat you up for work... The one will offer you a half hour shag for something like R200 and when you say no, her friend will drop the price and they start a bidding war with each other. WTF... Either way I've been going out with the locals for the last 5 nights so I haven't really seen much of that. Thank Goodness... Also across the way of where we spend most of our days here, is a boy boy bar... Very entertaining gays that work there. I have had some serious laughs with those blokes some evenings. The people here really know how to joke around... Also I have found out that a foreigner is not allowed to work here. He can own a bar and not be able to serve a drink in his own bar... Also apparrently there is a heavy presence of the Mafia in Ko-Sumui. Not that they are apparent at all. So to end things off I'll give some Thai sayings:
Sewadee = Hello
KaPunKap = Thank You (Man says)
KaPunKa = Thank You (Female says)
PoomPooi = Fat
There are some others but as I said earlier I'm nackerd. Till laterz... O and I get back soon... :(

Just a quick comment before I leave

There are some conservative people that are reading this blog... So I have toned it down and left out a few juicy details here and there. If you want the full story, you will need to email me if you can't wait to hear from me when I get back...

Awsome Ko Somui!!!!!11111onetwo

Screw anything I said in the last post. Ko Sumui rocks... There is nothing to do during the day still and I've found out where to go at night. Wow... OK, so I have been a bad boy and haven't updated for a few days now. I don't really want to update. So my sister was sick for a day or two and lay in bed the whole of one of them. Thats fine, it gave me time to make the most coolest friends around the corner from us. They are 3 local Thai girls... The one girl's name is Nai and I can't really remember the other twos names, though they are also very short. Last night I played the role of my sisters husband... Haha, it was just to keep the guys off her... it worked great and I had to tell a few people to shod off. Man foreigners are persistant. Either way it worked out great for me too. You see, the previous night I was getting hounded when my sister was in bed sick... By girls not guys, well one guy, and it really gets annoying when you there to party. So playing husband was a nice deterant for the girls as well. Though there was one Thai girl that we mistook for someone that we knew and she ended up hounding my sister, that she likes me and she wants to talk to me... Either way, its really easy to make friends with the locals and some foreigners. The other night for instance we were chilling just outside our room and three swedish guys and two english guys ended up joining us and we got wasted outside our rooms. The three swedish guys ended up being real anime fans. They brought the topic up... When I tried to change it they wouldn't let me and kept hounding me about anime. The one guy was such a fan of naruto, that he got a tattoo of the seal that was formed on Saske's neck when someone bit him. For those of you that don't know Naruto forget the last sentance. The point is that its a little insane to get a tattoo of something from a Japanese cartoon. Anyway, the last three days I have now spent with the Thai girls I was talking about earlier. Two of them are gorgeous. The one is my age and the other is 28. They are the most fun people to be with... When they met my sister they took to her like flies to... They now help her shop for stuff and get her bargain prices and are just so friendly in general. The one girl that is my age keeps hinting that she is looking for a boyfriend and that I should sit on her lap whenever I sit down. She is very good looking, though the only problem I have is that her English is not so great. So conversation is difficult. So strangely enough the one I get alone with the most and really dig is the 28 year old, Nai. We were supposed to meet them out last night, but it got so packed that we missed each other. Turned out really great because I met some Venusuala girls when I returned to my room. Things are also starting to go a bit off track. I mean, the last three nights I haven't left the clubs before 4 in the morning. Sleep till like 12 and then sorta arb around with the locals or foreigners. Like the swedish guys and two english guys and myself ended up teaming together to play soccer against the locals on the beach. That was really fun... The one swedish guy is pretty insane with a soccer ball. Either way, I'm starting to crave a braai and some rugby. They just have soccer on the screens the whole day... Man, soccer sucks, I feel sorry for those of you that follow it religiously. Because we like it so much here and we now have quite a few friends, my sister and myself have now decided to book into our hotel again for another 4 nights now. Each day here sorta gets more insane with the more people we meet... Wonder what it's going to be like after another few days. O ya, almost forgot, I met another freakin Englishman. He was around 40 or 50... Sex tourist. His wife knows his doings as well and is sorta fine with it. Anyway, I thought the guy was really dodge at first, but after chatting to him for like 2 hours and seeing him again the night after... The guy is actually really great, besides the women thing. He reckons if I ever go to Turkey, I should contact him. The guy has good taste in boys toys, that I can say. He has bought himself a Kawasaki Ninja 900cc and modded it a bit. The bike looks incredible. He also has a 35 foot speed boat... Very nice boat. It's docked in Turkey atm. He says he doesn't take it out much because it eats fuel. Think it has 2 200's on the back of the boat. His taste in woman on the other hand needs something to be said about, but hey they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. No photo's for this blog. Don't feel like spending a lot of time at the internet cafe. There is just so much more fun to be had... I have found out why people earn more money than needed. To travel... it's so much fun when you get used to it. Maybe it is just Thailand. Think we are going to watch a cabarei show here. It is apparently very good and we saw the man-girls on the street the other night. Looks like its intertaining. Anyways, I'm off. Maybe I'll get some time in the next few days to add some more photo's. Cheers...

Boring Ko Sumui

The night life here was just too promising. We went out last night but there is like no place to dance. Also the sex here is so in your face. I mean there are so many girlie bars and so soo many single ugly guys with young Thai chicks here. It's disgusting. We have booked in for 4 nights here. Don't know if I'll be able to handle it. There are no really hot woman to go for here either. Even if there were, I have never picked up a girl when my sister is around and she is sticking to me better than bubblegum to your shoe. Man oh man. Not to mention there is fuckal to do during the day here except shop. The beach at high tide is non-existent. The freakin ocean eats the whole beach. Hmm, I hope it gets better because I don't know if I can handle staying in all day and living shitty night life. If I wasn't with my sister then it might be better. I could chat to random chicks maybe even the Thai girls. But everyone thinks that we are on honeymoon or something. So because there is nothing to do I have decided to sit on the internet and charge my IPOD. Kinda depleted the last full charge quite quickly on the trip here. Was watching quite a few episodes of "How I met your mother". I like it... its really funny. The trip was long so I finished the first season. So this post is going to have quite a few photo's in it because there aint much to do. All my sister wants to do is freaking shop shop shop. It's fine the first few days maybe weeks, but this is insane. It's all the same crap everywhere and it's too expensive here. So I'm not even looking till we get to Chiang Mui or Bangkok. Now the reason she doesn't want to go to Chiang Mui is because she is afraid her baggage is overweight. No shit sherlock with all the shopping its to be expected. O it's only for the domestic flights. The limit is 15kg's. When will she learn. At least I don't have to carry all her shit. Screw being a domesticated man... Any of you guys that like her so much can get in her good books by flying here and being her bag boy. I'm certainly not going to do it. So enough bitching, I'm feeling better now... Time to do the photo's and PS I'm never travelling with my sister again, she gets really moody when we are actually traveling.

Here you can see otto the otter. Don't think thats his name but hey... Now he has one. We found this little critter when we were at the butterfly farm in Phuket. He really puts on a display when people are watching him... When he thinks no-one is watching him he tries to escape is pen. Very cute actually... Anyone for Prison Break 3 - Ottos escape from the pen...

Here on the left you can see one of the butterflies that were at the butterfly farm. It was a small place but very beautiful... I believe we have one back home as well but it is very out of the way. Also I suppose once you have seen one you've seen them all. At least I did it in Thailand. I would love to get a T-Shirt that said "At least I did it in Thailand!", but I haven't found one and I think it might be taken the wrong way... hehe.

So here we decided to take the elephant trip. It was kinda pricy for an half hour. But at least we did it. The only thing is, its lank unconfortable. The elephants back muscles really move that chair around... The dude in the front has such a nice seat. Also as mentioned in a previous post, the back of his hat says how much you should tip him... And it suckered us... But I think we tipped him half of what he wanted. Just next to this place in Phuket you can shoot firearms for a reasonable price. Not only hand-guns but rifles and shot-guns. I didn't do it... Felt like saving cash and I have fired most of the weapons anyway. There was also a paintball place here and the field looked insane, but you needed a full two teams to play... Does my sister look like a full team.

Here on the left you can see some of the people that performed for us in Phuket. The one in the middle that is skinny looks almost male... almost 100% sure he/she is. The show was good, more of a time killer than anything else. Now if you look closely at this picture you might think that its a bit overdone. Let me tell you that if you think the gay culture in Cape Town is killer, you should check out this place at night. There was this one alley that was crowded with, shemales and dragsters... Was quite entertaining talking to them. Just like back home they are so over the top it's funny and different talking to them. Not something I could do everynight though.

Next we have a pic of the amount of fish that just arb around the pier at Ko Phi Phi. There are so many and they don't seem to get fed. It would be too expensive to feed them anyway. There are so many they are like piranahs. If you threw a crate of fruit into the water that would most probably feed like 10% of the fish at the pier and it would most probably be gone in less than 10 minutes, crate and all. That said they truly are a nice site when you waiting for you boat to dock or your ferry to leave.

If I continue to write about more photo's I'm goint to start babbling. I'm getting kinda bored. To the shops, or the bars, or bowling, or the non-existent beach, no beyond unfortuanately. Have to find the shopoholic anyway. I wonder if they have a AA meeting for people who are addicted to shopping... Be a nice present I think. "Hey, don't think that you going to get me one for mine..."

Ko Sumui

Well we finally arrived... The drive here was better than the drive to Phuket from Ko Lante. I went out one final night last night in Phuket and saw some live local bands. Some of the people do covers almost like the original. Everything is a knock off in Thailand, even most of the woman. I must say that Ko Sumui and Phuket are so for the sex turists. It is so in your face here. Also whoever said that the prices on the islands were cheaper were lying. Its so damn expensive on the islands compared to Bangkok. We thinking that after a few days we are going to go to Chiang Mui from here. We will see though. Looks like the night life here will be good. Watched night at the museam on the circuits here, good movie, and the cinemas are awsome. Tickets are around the same price though. So I would equate Ko Sumui to Patong... very sex driven lifestyles for the Thais. Btw I cannot add certain punctuation to this blog because the freaking keyboard layout is set to something wierd. Will fix that when I get back. So as promised here are some more photos, even though they are a day late.

Here on the right you can see the dish that made my sister cry. Its prawns in a curry sauce. Now I have had some of the currys here and my sister has tasted them. She says they have nothing on this dish on the right. So if you ever come to Thailand and see this dish on a menu, BEWARE! My sister says that I must tell everyone that the red things in the meal are not tomatoes as she originally thought. Take a guess at what the where... hehe.

On the left here you can see some of the accomodation that is available at Kata beach in Phuket. This was a little steep, but still managable. We did not stay here though for we had decent accomadation already for a much cheaper price. That aside, you should really see the place we are staying at now. It is classified as a backpackers and has everything a 3 star hotel could ask for. It is really cheap in comparison to the other places here on the island. Oh and I have checked. We can stay at amazing places in Chiang Mui for dirt cheap. Cannot wait...

On the right is an example of not being tanned enough. Even with the badly lit photo you can see that she is tanned. But no, its not enough. So you should see her now... Anyways you can see that I have been gradually gaining one as well. The photo was taking at one of the bars we visited in Phuket town. It had a pool table and man let me tell you the balls and the pockets were huge in comparison to South Africas tables. This reminds me that the pool tables we played on in Ko Lante were much more to my liking and similar to SA. Anyways this is costing me a bit. Not very cheap on the islands as previously mentioned. So... to the moon and back...

The Addition of Photos

So to start off I'm going to make another post tonight saying that this is going to be a large post. It shall contain quite a few photos with some descriptions... Then when posting in the future I'll add some more of the photos that are on the CD. Obviously I'm not going to upload all of the currently 122 photos, that would just be mad... "I know what some of you might be thinking..."

Here on the left you see the stylishly done up minivan on one of the streets in Bangkok. So far we have only seen these types of vehicles in Bangkok. Even one of the taxi companies has all of their cars looking similar to this, pink as well, though I've think I've mentioned that already...

On the right here you can see some of the ameneties that the hotel had to offer that we were staying at in Bangkok, Indra Region Hotel. Sadly :( we havent stayed as luxuries as that again, though I have to mention doing what we are doing now in the backpackers and hostels, you meet way more people. YAY!

Damn, there really isn't much to say when there are photos to show. Think I'll just add a few more then do about one a day from here on out.

So here you see my sister working on her now blackness... This was near the beginning of the holiday. She is going to kill me when she finds out I've posted this pic. Hey she asked that I take it and then left it in my care... Hmm, maybe I should remove this...

Btw, you have to rent these chairs for the day and they cost around R20. Ripoff... Nothing like this at Ko Lante though and its so much more relaxed there. Even the chairs on Ko Phi Phi were cheaper, this was very surprising indead. More than half the price...

Her you can see the one Thai girl we met with the art shop. Forgot her name and even if I remembered it I would have no idea how to spell it. The guy in the photo is the american we met when we came to Phuket the first time. He was way to chilled and is no longer traveling with us. Nice guy though. Damit, I just realised I don't have any pictures of the women I was chatting up last night. Got the ones email so I'll ask her to send one of the pics when she can. Then I'll post the pic for everyone to see how nice some of the people are we are meeting here. Last pic to be posted is just a beauty shot.

And last but, definitely not the least, here is a shot of one of the statues outside of a temple around where we were staying in Phuket. There was a show on in the background tonight when we were walking past it. Man this place is beautiful. Even though we drove for 6 hours today to get to Phuket again, I must say that my sister and myself thought it was like 2 hours. Could be the kamakazi driving or the scenery that was just so amazing. Unfortuanately we have not footage or photos of the ride. Think we were to worried about our lives to take any photos.

Phuket Again

Well last night was a blast. Met these two swedish girls yesterday and a dutch girl. Man oh man I wish we were staying there. I ended up having drinks with the three girls and then the one girl gave me her email address, it was fun... Then I went back to the bar at the bungalouws after the night out with the girls and the barman wasn't busy so he asked me if I wanted to go bar hoping with him. Now that was fun... we went to bars looking for women to come to his bar so that the woman would attract more customers. We went to like 7 different bars, most of them for a few minutes and then he treated me to how the thai people really eat. Off the streets, what we've already tried, but this was good food. Learnt how to spice it properly and what utensils to use and what the plants on the tables were for, etc. We got home rather late and the next morning I had to be up around 7 to catch a bus back to here in Phuket. Now remember I mentioned that the drivers in Bangkok had to have been trained by the Brittish Air Force? If you really want to have your pants soiled or no more fingernails, try a trip from Ko Lante to Phuket by bus. Man oh man, what a ride, rollercoasters couldn't be any more scary than this. It was fun though, really difficult to get used to but fine after that, sorta. We arrived this afternoon and my sister left for the bank... I went to get some lunch. Decided to see if the Thai's know how to cook steak... Lets just say I'll stick to the Thai food here, even the spicy stuff. After lunch I went for a walk. I was walking past a place called "Pink Lady 2002" when one of the taxi guys asked me if I wanted to go to "Young Lady"... I thought he was talking about the place behind him. I told him I would just walk there if I was interested. This guy was persistant... So in the end I thought it must be close by because the ride was extremely cheap, he must have gotten comission for taking me there. I'll tell you what, we get to this place and he says I can go for a masage, btw the place was around the corner, lol. So I go inside and the place is quite large for any masage parlour I've been to. There was a lounge, reception and a display room now quickly filling up with girls sitting there. I felt that this was no masage place and asked one of the people what the place actually was. Hehe, the guy then takes me to the display room and shows me the girls seated there. He then continues to tell me that there are blue sticker girls and red sticker girls, I can't remember or didn't hear what he said next because I looked at the room. OMFG, I wish I was allowed to take a photo, man do I, the women were insanely hot, the kind that all the pick up lines are made for. I quickly returned to my senses when and continued to listen to what he was saying. So it went something like this, imaging an asian talking english... "So blue lady, she 2400baht for hour half. She give masage then give blow job, then she fuck, yeah, then you shower, she masage again and thats that." Hmm, the offer was tempting seeing as I've been on a dry spill for a while now. Some of you might not believe me but I turned around after giving him some indication that I was coming back so that I didn't look to disturbed. Then went outside and the taxi driver was something like this... "What no good, I take you another place. Free of charge." Now I wanted nothing more with this guy, though I was very grateful and thankful he showed me what will most probably be the most attractive women on the face of this earth, man I wish I could have taken a photo. I sort of had my bearings and told the guy I was going to continue my walk. After about 10 minutes of walking I was back at the hostel. Though, if I didn't stay at the hostel for 6 days before, I would have been screwed getting home. So I got back had a nap and then met my sister after I showered. She then continued to tell me about her day and that most of her cash problems have been sorted out. Thank God, she is so much more managable now. Either way we went for supper down near "Pink Lady". This is rather wierd as well. We get there and the lonely planet I have mentions that in Phuket there is Fantasia Entertainment and that they throw shows that will knock Las Vegas's socks off, mainly with elephants and lasers and lights, etc. So we walked past this building that had the Fantasia sign on it. I told my sister about what the book said and that it's apparently a 21 billion dollar stadium. When I told her that I clicked that this building was not worth 1 million dollars. So we went up and asked what the place was. Nobody in the vacinity knew what we were asking for about 10 minutes. Then one lady replies... "Cocktail, Ladies sing..." and something else. She was extremely difficult to understand. We didn't enter and found out later that it was one of those bars that provide ladies as the form of entertainment. Lets just say that I've come to the conclusion that Phuket is it's own Red Light district... I have the photos here and am going to make another post with some of them. The others look like they need some touching up... Say thanx to my sister when you see her for the photos.

Ko Lante Before Phuket

As mentioned before, there is not much to do in Ko Lante. It's very laid back, even for us Cape Townians. Nothing much to do. So I hired the poegie again and decided to drive around, after sleeping in the hammock again. We bought a phone card in the beginning of the holiday, but didn't know how much the calls costed or what the number to the phone was. Now that phone has been stolen. I still have mine here but no Thai sim-card. We still have to organise the bus trip to Phuket, the idea is that I feel we have been enough in the sun, sister disagrees though. This is instead of taking a ferry again. They about the same cost, but I would like to see more of the inland. Very beautiful more inland. It's so much greener and more secluded. The place we are staying at now is so chilled. There are two places to eat and two bars. This afternoon I played pool against the locals. Was very fun... Couldn't really chat to them though. The language barrier is rather large if you don't want something touristy. Everyone can eventually see the photos before we get back. My sister has got them burnt off onto a cd. So when she remembers to bring the cd when we are on the internet I'll create a post with just some pictures or add them in with some descriptions, leave me an comment on what you would prefer, stacks of photos all together or single photos with descriptions or a mixture of both. I cannot however offload the video footage yet. Takes time and I would have to edit it. Sorry for you, you'll have to wait. The two bars at the bungalouws are on the beach, took some footage of that, so are the resturants. There is a cave around here somewhere and a pool in the cave. It's a hike about 30min from the road and a absail down into the caverns. We didn't do that today. My sister went for a walk and did some more shopping, whereas I slept on the hammocks because this place is just too relaxing. I can seriously say to anyone who smokes weed that why do you need herb when you can just do this. I'm currently trying to find a toilet that flushes, instead of having to use a bucket of water to flush the toilet. So far I haven't needed to use toilet paper but I think that I can hold out to tomorrow. Also only some of the ATM's here give you a balance of how much money you have left on your card. It's been a while since I saw my balance and would like to know what it is. Apparently you can check it on the net, but standard bank have the worst navigation system... *sigh* wish we didn't have to go back to Phuket, but oh well... Phuket it is, heeha...

Ko Lante After Phi Phi

Wow Ko Phi Phi was insane. There are loads of woman tanning topless, some very hot ones. The only reason I didn't update was because the internet was 4 times the price I was used to. First night there and my sister gets her hand bag stolen. That kinda put a damper on things. Her money and card was in her handbag. Was an awsome night otherwise. Then the next day she sorted out most of it after lending some money, but she can't replace her card until we get to a larger city's bank. So guess what? It's back to Phuket. The place I don't really like in comparison now. But it's fine. I have now officially tried the proper bucket. It's freakin served in a bucket. Thats right, a bucket, and they have insane specials like two for the price of one. R70 for two buckets of whiskey, coke and red bull. Insane people, insane. So the next day was the beach and I took some footage of the Island. It's so so sooo beautiful. I can't stress it enough. Then the evening my sister was still bummed so I went out for drinks by myself. Met the most amazing people. O and at the one place there was a muai thai ring. If you fought against a friend or someone else you could get a free bucket. Whats funny is that nobody tries it sober. The one guy got into the ring, massive oak, and before the fight even started he fell over. Then at the end of it all when the announcement was supposed to happen just before their hands are raised, he fell over again. So funny. So I was chatting up woman and watching drunk people fight last night. Btw the expensive drinks back home like vodka redbull are almost the cheapest here. So I'm going crazy drinking the expensive drinks, from back home, when I party. My sister and myself are starting to work on each others nerves. Could be she is stressing a bit about not having money. Ooo hired a scooter today. Don't need a license or anything. Just hired one and drove around the Island a bit. R12 to fill the tank. So cool. I'm going to get one when I have the cash, they cheap and driving them is fun, like a fast bicycle. The place we are staying at is amazing. Best place so far. It's on the beach in bungalouws, dirt cheap and the resturants look out over the ocean which resides about 1km from the high tide mark during low tide. It's extremely chilled here. It would be impossible to come here and not feel like you are on holiday. So chilled. There is nothing to do so I tried another 3 thai dishes today. Can't remember the name of the one dish but it's really good. Had no clue what I was ordering when I ordered it. Thought it had chicken in, but when I got it, it was prawns. Now, as most people know, I hate prawns! But I suckered up and tried it, with chopsticks nogal. OMG I could get used to that dish here... Home has nothing on how they cook seafood here. They also cater for the japanese with sushi resturants and us with steak houses. Haven't tried them yet, though I have had some european food, and that is not as good as back home. So till I feel like going on the net again to update you'll get it. Just really getting into the holiday vibe, trying to let my sister to by giving her some space. That way we don't really get in each others hair and can enjoy ourselves. Hell, I know I am.

Night Before Phi Phi

So I missed a day in blogging, hope no-one holds it against me... What happened after the last blog was insane. We went to Patong for the night life. Men that are women and Go-Go bars. The place was packed. We didn't like it too much. I got really drunk and have some really good advice for anyone drunk in Thailand, NEVER ride a tuk tuk drunk. The fresh air and motion of the car will make you very sick. Lets just say I learnt the hard way and flodded that night. Then yesterday we went to Nai Han beach... man that beach is amazing. Much smaller than the other beaches, less crowded and very very pretty. Took quite a lot of footage to show you guys when I get back. After that I went to a Muay Thai fight. Thai boxing in Thailand, front row, you cannot get better. It started off with 6 year olds fighting then women and then the older men. Damit, if you ever come to Thailand its really an experience. The local crowd is amazing at these fights. Betting, supporting, drinking if you want, friendly people, the atmosphere got me so fired up. After that I went to bed and then decided to see the massive shopping mall here in Phuket. Everything is the same price as what it is in Cape Town. Clothes the works, but the mall was a nice change. The rest of today wasn't that exciting. We just relaxing before going to Phi Phi tomorrow. There are two Italians here now talking to my sister and looking for a night out in Phuket. Looks like tonight might end up making us really drunk. I love staying in hostels, so many foreigners and travellers and everyone is friendly and it's dirt cheap. I mean shared accom is costing my sister and myself R38 per night, incl coffee and toast in the morning. We've heard that the prices on Phi Phi are very expensive, so we aren't looking forward to that, but we are happily going to stay there close to the beach and not really shop. So I'm hoping it will be fine. Planning to do a tour as well around the Islands and maybe even thinking of leasing a boat if possible and doing the "tour" ourselves. Not sure if we are allowed to though. So I'll leave this bad grammer for you people to read until my next post... I also allowed comments btw.

Around Phuket Town

So what happened last night? After I finished blogging we went to a local bar and I tried the local bucket... its a drink with the local Thai Whiskey, coke and red bull. It cost me 65baht. That is nothing. Just under R10... The drink is insane. I love it. It is kinda sweet though. Very nice... Then we walked back to the hostel and we stopped by a local art shop. Omg the people are so friendly and the ladies art and her husbands were out of this world. So much so that they have toured most of the world doing art exibitions. They were very nice. After that we came back and then slept till this morning. The touristy thing happened today. We found a local that took us to all the places for very cheap and the places he took us to were cheap as well. We saw the butterfly farm. You have to see the footage I took at this place. We then went to the culture centre and watched a culture show. That was great. My sister and Christaan both had to go up with others from the audience to do the raindance. I took footage of that too. We then left there and went for an elephant ride through the jungle. Nothing great about that... But at least I can say I've ridden an elephant. While we were riding the elephant Christaan played soccer with the locals. That looked like it was real fun. We then went to see one of the temples here in Phuket. It was a Thai temple. The other temples that they have here are Chinese temples but they are smaller than the Thai ones. Whilst driving there was, what looked like, a huge hotel being built on top of one of the hill/mountains here. We asked the guy driving us what it was and he said its the Phuket Buddha they are building. Man this thing looks massive. All that they have left is to build the rest of the head. The guy that was driving us around was very nice. Told us about his family and about the area and was like a real tour guide minus the real touristy information. Was a nice way to get to know the real Phuket. We then came back to the hostel and my sister and Christaan are taking a nap now. Each in their own rooms. Me I'm going to see what else there is in town to be had. O and btw, you won't believe how many old men and single male travelers there are with one Thai woman. Seems like they might be hookers that act as a tour guide/language interpreter for them as well, but I mean its the dirtiest old men with these petit woman. Christaan said that when we were at the beach the other day he saw a old fat man ask for this one girl and her friend was trying to convince her to go with the old man and the friend wanted nothing to do with him. He said it was kinda bad to see how some of these men were snickering and laughing as this was going on and then high fived each other when the girl left because she didn't want to go with the guy. I personally haven't been harrased at all by a hooker, even though people said its all over the place. From what I've seen its not as bad as everyone says it is... I also noticed how clean it is here. The streets and stuff are lank run down and the bulidings. But when you enter them and look at the streets, they are always clean. Even with all the stray dogs here, the floors in all the places are spotless, the streets are clean, its way cleaner than Cape Town but a lot poorer as well. Almost like the dodgy part of Muzinberg but clean. Anyways time to take another walk, but before I go I need to mention that the days was fun but not half as fun as grimming it with the locals and doing the more travelers thing to the touristy thing. Also my sister seems to have returned to normal. Wish I was with a male friend though. This place rocks when you have someone to travel with that you don't have to convince to do things. Not that my sister takes much convincing, but she is my sister...

Kata Beach

So lets start by saying that I got sunburnt today... again... damit. Not too bad at least. We went to Kata beach. Much more my sort of thing. Less crowded than Patong. Lots of jet ski's though, wakeboarding, parasailing. Still very touristy. Nothing much to say. We spent the whole day at the beach. Christaan and myself both got burnt, my sister just got blacker. Never black enough I tell you, she is never black enough. The bus we took to the beach was awsome. It only cost us 35 baht. Not too bad at all in my books. We hit bed early yesterday, so that means we are going out to one of the local bars soon. Looking forward to seeing how it is. The island is amazing. I wish I could post the pics... Just forest everywhere. Though there are so soo many touristy things to do. We are trying to avoid them because they are kinda expensive and you can have an amazing time with the locals. I ended up chatting to a girl from Hong Kong last night. She is english doing a year in Hong Kong. She says Hong Kong is awsome much more westernized than here. Come to think of it, this place we are staying at is pretty eastern. I like it. Haven't met any nice Thai girls yet. Seen many good looking ones in Bangkok. Though all you see at the beaches here are freaking foreigners. It's kinda depressing. The beaches are loaded with foreigners. Many of them over average weight to the girls in South Africa. Im starting to realise why they say that the South African women are among the best in the world. The weather is nice and hot. Similar to us in the day, though the humidity stays in the evening. At least we have A/C. My sister is going to drive me nuts. Today was fine, but up until today she has only been focusing on the negetive of the trip which in my opinion has not been bad at all. I told her its influencing my enjoyment of the holiday and she seems to be lightening up a bit. I've told myself that I'm not going to let anything ruin my vacation so if she wants to get moody fine... I'll go about my own ways. What else is there to report. O yes I saw a T-Shirt today that said, I don't want a f*ck*ng massage, suit or tuk tuk thank you. So true. Every one of those people are out to make a quick buck off you. Not in a bad way just that you walk down the street, even in Bangkok, and the local taxi drivers are like "taxi! taxi!". The other thing is the freaking suit places. Every single one of them want to make you a suit overnight. I've read that most of them are scams. But they are so persistant. Like they want to know where you come from and when they find out I'm from SA they talk Xhosa and Afrikaans. Very wierd. Funny actually. Don't want to get a suit yet. O yes there is a "convenience" store 2 shops to the left of the entrance to the place I'm staying. Its more convenient because you can buy alchohol there for cheap, than an actual convenience store that we know. Right there is a lot to say and everyone says that a picture is worth a thousand words. So I'll continue these updates and let the photos do the rest of the talking.

Phuket Town

So we arrived this morning in Phuket. The air, omg the air, fresh air... The airport's one section looks out over the ocean, very nice. There is also forest everywhere. I love the forest. We got on a taxi to come to Phuket Town and met and American guy on the taxi. He is doing the same thing as us, so we asked him if he would like to travel together to make the taxi fairs cheaper and so that he and us could have some more company... We paid for accomodation in this very cheap place, 380 baht per night. Air-Con at least and the showers are next to the toilets. Very strange... We caught a taxi to Patong beach and I dont like it too much. Very very touristy... the locals are so much fun to be with and its cheaper away from Patong. The stuff we bought in Bangkok was more than half the price than at Patong, so as soon as they find out that we can get it cheaper in Bangkok they drop their prices insanely. My sister is loving it because the local markets have shoes that can fit her now and we have the nice bargaining chip. Neil Stuppel tells me that the night life at Patong is amazing. Really didn't like the touristy thing so we came back early. Well sorta early. There was an accident on the main road connecting Phuket Town with Patong that took forever to clear. The american guy that is traveling with us is also keen on the same things that we are. He is from Seattle and his name is Christaan. Not too sure on the spelling though. He is 30 and is a constuction lawyer. Very nice guy. Laid back. So the plans for tomorrow are to see the less touristy beaches and then after 3 nights accomadation here in the dodgy place we are going to get a bungalouw or hotel near or on the beach. Just some of the places are really expensive. My sister and myself are trying to get Christaan to eat some food off the streets but he isnt too keen yet. Though I cannot and will not emphisise how good the food is on the streets. We ate in a resturant in Patong this afternoon and my sister and myself could not help feeling dissatisfied, not that the food was bad... just that the food on the streets is really good. The night life might be happening in Patong but we are a fair way away from there so we are thinking of seeing what is to be had here in Phuket Town. I reckon its going to be nice. Another thing is that staying in this cheap dodgy place is almost the way to go. You meet so many foreigners and travellers, its soo cooool. The travelers card worked in Bangkok, we could pay for the flight and food there with it, also we could draw some cash. Neil says that he had problems here in Phuket... Ill say that we are going to be pretty fucked if that is the case here. We will have enough cash to get away but that means that we have to leave tomorrow. Maybe the American guy can help us out if there is any issue. The next beach we are planning to go to tomorrow is... kata beach. Also Neil reckons that the beach called nai harn beach is nice and quite. We'll see what happens. Once again sorry about the lack of pics... Will update the blog when its possible... Maybe add some more information as I think of it... like um, oh ya I went for another massage yesterday. Though I think it might have been a tranny that gave me the massage. Who cares she/he was hot and the massage was great. Once again and thankfully there was no happy ending. Planning on looking for another parlour around here. R30 for an hour long massage is nothing. Also looks like there are some new people to meet here at the lodging. Cheers, Andrew out...

Night Before Phuket

So we still in Bangkok atm... found out that we cant upload the pictures because my sister didn't bring the connector for the camera and there is no way im going to edit video footage here and then upload it. So I've decided to create this blog as text only till I get back to my home PC :), then the fun will begin with videos to upload and pics and to fix and make this blog a bit more eligible. What else can I say... well I love Thai woman, they are so petit... The malls are incredible, yesterday I walked into a mall the size of cavendish and all they sold were clothes. The shops are way smaller and there are so many more of them. Then just down the road there is another cavendish 5 stories high that only sells electronics. If the electronics were only cheaper. They are slightly cheaper and you don't really get to cash in on the garantees... bummer :(. There was also a mall for hi-fi equipment and you can get like a amp that has old um resistors that light up on the front of the box. Huge things :). You can also get things in some stores from back in the 60's where things were so "chilled" and hipped out man. All I can say is that the shopping is great... Today we decided to book the ticket, not online but well at the airport. Lets say that taxi's if you arent carefull can rip you off though the ripoff costs only like R20 its like 1000baht, but some places are more than double the price. Like the hotel limo, haha, the car is just a mercedes instead of the other nissan taxi's. What a joke. O and one thing im going to try and get footage of tomorrow before we leave is the taxis some of them are supped up to look like the cars from need for speed... really cool but not so great when the one taxi service has pink supped honda's... lol. We ate at a resturant yesterday and my sister almost cried for a good 15 minutes... and people the massages are so worth it. Didn't go tonight, although there is still time... hehe. My sister has maybe gone way over her limit for baggage and still hasn't bought anything for herself... pity.... so im going to push that we are here for ourselves. Ooo and after the blog i made yesterday walked past a shop I've been walking past the last few days and got some very very cool pants. Damit wish I could post the pics... Hmmm there is just so much to say that I forget most of it, like the hotel is a ripoff, the beer is insanely priced. The convenience stores like 7 eleven, which yes they do have here, you can buy beer and sweets and everything will cost you less than R20. Just today I bought 3 packets of sweets, 2 beers, 1 large chips, and a one litre fanta... all for less than R20. The other thing I forgot to mention is that becuase the convenience stores sell booze most people will sit outside and get drunk. Its not that common but most places will have some people outside drinking, makes for an amazing atmosphere... Had some of the local beer... I'll tell you what, I could seriously get used to it, it's light but you can drink it... nah that doesn't work. So till the next blog, cheers, and I seriously do promise to format this blog when I get back, feel kinda bad that it's going to be a mess, but hey I'm on holiday so whateva... the pics will come shortly too, most probably after the 30th of January. Till next time...

Bangkok

We landed yesterday here in bangkok. The tourist book I have mentions that the taxi drivers are kamakazi pilots. Well, first hand experience tells me the Brittish Air force must have trained them. The first day was more of settling in. My sister was going nuts about wanting to shop. I managed to hold back the beast until this afternoon. Then we both let loose. The shopping is amazing. Clothing is so cheap. Spent 2500baht today on clothes, that equates to R500, and let me tell you its insane the amount of clothes I have. Will take photos of some of the items and post them later. Thats if we have a connector for the camera. Will have to ask my sister. Besides shopping the air here is thick. Its such a mission to actually think of smoking here let along actually smoke. There are so many massage places here in bangkok. Went for one, cost around R30 and let me say that I feel like i could go every night. Seriously contemplating that one. Lost my sister after the massage and decided to come start the blog. So I kinda have to get back to the hotel and see if she is there... Its getting late. One last thing I must add, Resturants can kiss my ass... the food on the streets is really, really good. Till the next post which will hopefully have some photos, asta lasange.
